Decentralizing Chicago

DMAC Architecture, along with Midtown Athletic Clubs and the Chicago Architecture Biennial are hosting "Decentralizing Chicago" at 2444 N. Elston Ave, Chicago, IL on November 8th, 2017 6:00pm. A moderated conversation by Cynthia Noble, CEO and Founder of Noble Art Tours and Adjunct Lecturer at the Art Institute, that will discuss the current trend of socializing projects being incorporated beyond Chicago's core downtown.

The conversation, that will range from principles of New Urbanism and how new project are incorporating them into their design, to all the new offering Chicagoan should expect in the near future that will make of Chicago a polycentric city with a more equally distributed social offering. The panelists will include:

Dwayne MacEwen, AIA. Principal and Founder of DMAC Architecture, Dwayne has spearheaded the design and construction of Midtown Athletic Club Chicago, bringing density and quality to the industrial Elston Avenue.

Lynn Osmond, Hon AIA, CAE. Head of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Lynn bring an overview of all major development currently going on in the city of Chicago, having a broad vision of the future trends that will impact Chicagoan lives.

Charles Porter. Managing Principal of DMA Associates, Charles will talk about his unique collaboration with Dwayne over many years creating projects in the outskirts of the city that are able to bring a socializing quality to the area.

Eric Nordness. CFO and Senior VP of Hickory Street Capital, Eric plays a key role in the development of another key project to our conversation, the Zachary Hotel. A redevelopment of the already very popular and historical Wrigleyville area.
