The idea for this project was to create a wreath "imprint" using a commonplace material and enhancing its inherent aesthetic quality by using it in repetition. StrawLaLaLaLa was conceptualized through experimenting with multiple materials. 

 

Originally it was envisioned as a wreath made from hundreds of pencils and shortly evolved in to a wreath built into the form of over 4000 straws. The result is an abstract wreath that occupies both the positive and negative space of the straw form.
